The Electric City Music Conference will enter it’s fourth year in 2017.  The event includes a music festival, music conference and award ceremony. The ECMC takes place across multiple venues throughout Scranton (and the surround areas).

Fans are provided with various options for attending the event. “Weekend Passes” are available that provide unlimited access to all three days of the event, “Hopper Passes” can be purchased that provide access to each day’s event or fans can simply pay at the door for a specific venue they wish to attend.

Downtown Scranton is perfect for walking. Providing a safe, well-lit atmosphere for music fans to discover new music or enjoy their local favorites. Although some venues require a short drive, they are utilized as “destination venues” or for “specialized showcases.”



The Electric City Music Conference was established in 2014. The event, which includes a music festival, music conference, and music award ceremony takes place every fall in Scranton, Pennsylvania. The ECMC takes place across multiple venues throughout Scranton (and the surround areas).

Over two days (Friday and Saturday), Downtown Scranton is transformed into a music hotbed. Bands from across the United States descend upon Scranton to mix with NEPA’s vast talent pool of local bands. Scranton’s best bars and venues play host to a plethora of music that spans all styles and genres.

The ECMC strives to bring national level touring acts to Scranton, PA to provide music fans with an exciting line-up and to allow local bands to network with bands on the rise.

Notable alumni of the Electric City Music Conference: Northern Faces, Endwell, Koji, Chris Farren, The Gay Blades, Endless Mike and the Beagle Club, American Opera, You, Me, and Everyone We Know, Apache Chief, James Thomas and Survay Says to name a few.

In 2016 — 100+ acts preformed in 10+ venues to 4,000+ people.

Local bands interested in playing can submit through ElectricCityMusicConference.com, while bands from outside the area must utilize SonicBids.com for submission purposes.

Notable venue partners: The Keys, The Backyard Ale House, The Vault, The Bog, The V Spot, The Irish Wolf Pub, The AFA Gallery, Thirst T’s Bar and Grill are staples of the event, while a rotating cast of venues enjoy their participation as well.


Panels & Speakers

One of the most exciting aspects of the Electric City Music Conference is the panel and speaking engagements. The panels provide attendees and performers the opportunity to mingle with music industry professionals from across the country, participate in informative and interactive panels and partake in presentations by experienced professionals discuss topics pertinent to the music industry.

All panels and discussions are free of charge and allow time for question and answer sessions. Time is also built in for networking, allowing attendees a chance to mingle and network with influential music industry professionals.

Started in 2016, a free breakfast is provided by the Electric City Music Music Conference for attendees and presenters.

Notable speakers have included: Lou Plaia (ReverbNation), Kyle Weber (IndieOnTheMove.com), Will Beekman (The Kirby Center), Michael Cloeren (Pennsylvania Blues Festival), Jesse Lundy (Point Entertainment / Philadelphia Folk Festival), and many others.
